GET TO KNOW US

The Glovers, Meath Road Edition

It all started on the Meath Road. Our local newsagents, Ideal Stores, kept us fuelled with 10c jellies — little did we know it would someday become Glovers no7. The siblings passion took over, and soon our tiny cafe grew into a community hub for the Bray locals.

Coffee → brunch → tapas → events → now tablescaping & grazing… turns out we don’t like sitting still.

Glovers is named after our dad, Paul, whose Full Irish was legendary. It never made it onto the menu (sorry Da), but his warmth is in every part of this place. When you entered Glovers, you entered our home.

The (Quiet-ish) Beginning – April 2020

We opened one month into lockdown — and chaos followed. One-kilometre queues, people sneaking past the 2km rule, Gardaí crowd-control… all for coffee and cake. Looking back, it was always going to be food for us. We kept things simple: fresh ingredients, local suppliers, and cooking from the heart. Our heavenly coffee came from Brady’s in Wicklow — Craig & Catherine have been with us from day one, roasting our famous Colombian single-origin and keeping us caffeinated through the madness. A family business we love.

The Glow-Up

We started with coffee and cakes… then breakfast, famous cheeseboards, tapas, the OG sambos (Hot Chick or Cajun?) and those ridiculous pintxos and sharing platters. We always tried to reinvent ourselves and offer something a little different.

Meanwhile, Mum chased her dream and opened 40 Winks Hotel in 2020. Life had other plans, and she returned to Glovers in 2023, just as Roisin and Olan fled to Australia. Sadbh left in 2024 for the corporate world, saw a gap in the catering market, and came back with a plan. We’ve had a taste of it all. Our charcuterie boards have been a family staple for a long time. Christmas day Roisin would be creating grazing boards from 9 am, strict instructions to not enter her cheese factory. We shared our Christmas Day food one day on Instagram. Customers started asking if we could make them cheeseboards & the rest is history. Add Roisin’s Melbourne food-scene inspo blowing up our phones, and suddenly Glovers Tablescaping & Grazing was born. By 2024, corporate catering came knocking… loudly. You asked, we delivered, and Glovers Grazing took off.

Today

From 10c jellies to full-blown grazing tables — it’s been a wild, delicious ride. And we’re only getting started (again). Our beautiful shop has been sold and we plan to throw all energy into the catering world! Here’s to 2026 & we can’t wait to be apart of all of your events!

2026 Plans

We began the year feeling incredibly positive and grateful. Our little shop opened doors for us to step into the catering world, allowing us to pour our hearts and souls into what we love most. We’re so excited to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new clients, and hopefully start to collaborate with some truly fabulous brands along the way. (Any events coming up?)

As we grow, we’ll be introducing a tablescape and design element to the business. Creating a beautifully styled table with a thoughtful theme, layered linens, candles, and interiors? That’s the dream. From a young age, we were taught the importance of a colourful tablecloth and a well-set table. Every dinner was an occasion, with creativity flowing freely from as early as nine years old.

We are endlessly grateful for the community we’ve built and can’t wait to continue growing together. You’ve allowed us to live out our dreams, and for that, we truly can’t thank you enough.

Lots of love,

The Glovers xxx
